Hey, this is Val too :)

This article is great - it really describes what my kung fu became shortly before meeting my ex. I was so intense about training I was neglecting important life things, like career or family. Didn't even know I had wounding, was just running along on autopilot. And so proud of all the parlor tricks I could do...

Still kinda lazy or something... I find I have to make myself sit down and uplevel, and the bigger the uplevel, the more I resist it. (I can tell when the healing will be deepest and most important by the level of resistance I feel to engaging that goal...) Would you speak or write about this, Mel? Does that resistance ever go away? Does anyone else in the thriver community experience it?

As always,

thanks and love to you -

Yes, I just got your Transforming Family Of Origin Wounds Course. I will try to enhance it a bit by implementing some EMDR-techniques to the imaginations (like tapping rythmically on the knees during the session or using this app for visual stimulation https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.matrixxun.producttour, btw WingWave is a variant of EMDR for coachings...). I'm really curious if that will work will tell you about the results.

Much love from France/Germany

Hi Melanie,
great article....Jeff Brown has written about this quite a bit too and refers
to it as " the spiritual bypass.."..
I know it well; spent half a lifetime driving over it to the bookshop for the latest self help book, a new psychologist , new medication, new yoga/ Pilates class,
(not to mention a new wardrobe , hairstyle , hair colour, house, car, holiday, restaurant etc; that was the material bypass route, lol) ...
talk about taking the long way round...
no roadmap for grace, for home , for " within" ...
who knew where or what that was??
and yes our culture affirms that healing childhood or other trauma may be a lifetime task, or an impossible one and still in many ways ,as you said it ,cultivates " woundology" and victimology
and of course this is driven in part by consumerism and the power of multi billion dollar self help industry..
to say nothing of one the world's biggest industry markets , the pharmaceutical industry!
where would they be if people learned that they can heal by methods such as yours? and quickly ?
So we see whose interests are served by the dominant cultural ideology : " " healing trauma is a lifetime task...you will need medication for the rest of your life "
this is the big end of town talking and " manufacturing consent"..
so it's not just individuals and the personal " spiritual bypass " ;
it's also " whose interests are being served" ..

Hi Stefan,

our body does that for us ... it truly is as simple as "what hurts right now", meaning what has been triggered for us by an event, or what painful feeling has just arisen ...

Are you working with NARP? https://www.melanietoniaevans.com/narp

That teaches you exactly how to connect wth your Inner Being and then how to unravel and release (up-level) the inner wounds and programs in the order that you need to.

Hi Mel, I am so grateful that I found your blog a few months ago (although I found your work some 2 years ago but back then it didn'
t resonate with me for whatever reason)...but just tell me how do you manage to bring up the issues just in the exact order as I need them? If I'm struggling with this or that I just need to wait a few days or sometimes even hours and you come up with a new article adressing right that topic...lol...great coincidence!
Either way, thank you so much for your work!
