I doubt very much that he sensed your deep pain, the reason he was quiet was that he was calculating his best strategy to avoid responsibility, you don’t figure in his thoughts because the betrayal wasn’t his problem it was yours, they have an unlimited capacity to distort reality and to then forgive themselves, think arrogence and self entitlement, but getting caught was his problem and worse still the spotlight was now clearly on him and yes you were going to pay for this betrayal, how dare you do this. Yes, these people are rapists of the soul, they use the very best in us to do the most harm in order to get their needs fullfilled, whilst never realizing that fullfillment is impossible for them, this is a truly sad situation that can never end well as their partners will always be blamed for this situation, they take zero responsibility for their actions. An insight into their ability to change. My ex failed in her career as an accountant CPA due to her behaviours, although it was always according to her, the employers fault five jobs in six years, yet she now denies this ever happened (delusional) as with all past indiscreations, I didn’t know what to do about the situation, so much for the pre marriage plans, in 19 years I am still yet to hear her acknowlege any of her abusive behaviour let alone take responsibility and apologize. Four years into the marriage she was pregnant and chose this time to inform me that she did not intend to contribute in the marriage any longer, I was on my own and gutted when I realized what the future held for me, this was a triumph of hope over reality, but she was as good as her word. So she decided to re train as a teacher, 2 years at the Catholic University and then 1 year at a Bible college, she qualified as a RI Teacher in both Catholic and Protestant denominations and then went on to do a masters. On completion of the masters we seperated, she jeeringly told me at this time that I should find someone with christian values, love,honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy, fidelity ect as she didn’t and had never held those values, she actually percieves them with contempt as a weakness to be exploited. Interestingly, my daughter has spent the last 6 yrs in a christian school, the ex insists that this continue, these people don’t operate within a rational formwork, logically if you dispised something so greatly sending your child there would be your last choice. The point I am making is that even with all this exposure to people living their beliefs on a daily basis none of this humanity had penetrated the narcissism, these people never change. Interestingly, I watched a movie “Oz the great and powerful” over the weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the similarity, a study in narcissism, insidious evil. Getting my head around the insidious nature of this behaviour has been one of my greatest hurdles so far on this journey of discovery, we might have our foibles but we just don’t think like that, and this is what made us vulnerable in the first place. On another note, I often see the LOA in action, when I’m out and about and I meet woman, I’m a fairly open up front sort of person and at some point what people are looking for enters the conversation. I’m not looking for a relationship due to my current situation or FWB as I feel this generally ends somewhere in tears, you harm them, you harm yourself. I have noticed that the often the ones who drift away end up in a succession of short term relationships, needy and stuck on a roundabout. It’s always important to know your beliefs and to not compromise them. When the time is right I am sure that an appropriate person will enter my life, never again will I settle for second best.

Hi Mel – this resonates very much. Our normal ways of living, being and feeling can feel so normal and even “right”, that it is easy to be blind to them until life shows up in a certain way, or pain hits. This is another good reason why it’s been so important to listen to other people’s experiences. Like right now, the penny just drops into place, and I feel almost tears of relief and a sense of understanding regarding what the next point of healing is. Like you have said many times, this is a way of being in life, rather than making shifts for a while and then stopping. Many thanks again xx

You are doing such a wonderful job or expanding and evolving – and its really great that the beliefs are “popping up” for you like that … to target and shift.

Also, I know with myself (and others) we can be so used to living with an emotional state such as “I feel guilty wanting stuff”, or “Other people deserve more than me”, or whatever it is … that we just sorta keep existing with it – rather than realising “I can target that DIRECTLY, shift that and completely transform it!”

I have those moments – truly 🙂 And laugh at myself realising it was right under my nose all along!!

And we can! Our bigger stuff may take quite a few shifts, and once we are determined to dig out a false belief the “bits” will start coming up … our intention gets the ball rolling …

That is so wonderful that more and more of these modalities are becoming known that can work on people’s subconscious, and that you have experienced wonderful results. I love that these types of healings are becoming more and more spoken of …

As you know, I totally agree – I too used to think it was all “in the head”, and had no idea that it was in the emotional work, in the body where the shifts needed to take place!

It is so true Ruth, and wonderfully put, that if we are not working and connecting with ourselves emotionally in our body – we are disembodied … and we are very disassociated and vulnerable to “life” affecting us and tipping us further out of balance.

Hi Maureen,

that is so wonderful that you have found the peace and the “let go” in a time when many people would struggle to do so.

I have seen so many parents and children reunited from that heart centred let go, and putting our faith, love and trust in a Higher Power whilst continuing to heal and grow.

Letting all that stuff go, has made the space to be your organic self of well being! … Fantastic!
